Mussoorie with its green hills, varied flora and fauna and a view of the Himalayas, is one of Uttarakhand’s most popular hill stations. Mussoorie is around 280 km drive from the capital city of Delhi. The place is also known as the gateway to the “Gangotri” and “Yamunotri” shrines.

Mussoorie is at a distance of around 210 km from Gangotri and 140 km from Yamunotri. Historically, Mussoorie was used as a convalescent centre for soldiers by the Britishers. Later, some homes were built by the local residents and the Maharajas. It was only in the year 1823, when Mussoorie got established as a hill station. The Kempty Falls, the Lal Tibba, the Jawahar Aquarium, the Bhatta Falls among others are most popular among tourists. Mussoorie gets its name from the Mussoorie plant that grows in abundance here.
