This package talks about Mussoorie - ‘Queen of the Hills’. This place is famous for the scenic view of Himalayas it offers and which makes it one of the most popular hill station destinations in Uttarakhand.

 

Mussoorie with its green hills, varied flora and fauna and a view of the Himalayas, is one of Uttarakhand’s most popular hill stations. Mussoorie is around 280 km drive from the capital city of Delhi. The place is also known as the gateway to the “Gangotri” and “Yamunotri” shrines.

Mussoorie is at a distance of around 210 km from Gangotri and 140 km from Yamunotri. Historically, Mussoorie was used as a convalescent centre for soldiers by the Britishers. Later, some homes were built by the local residents and the Maharajas. It was only in the year 1823, when Mussoorie got established as a hill station. The Kempty Falls, the Lal Tibba, the Jawahar Aquarium, the Bhatta Falls among others are most popular among tourists. Mussoorie gets its name from the Mussoorie plant that grows in abundance here.

 

Shedup Choepelling Temple located on the Happy Valley road in Mussoorie was the Dalai Lama’s first place of refuge when he fled Tibet in the year 1959.Other prominent places of attraction in Mussoorie are Camel’s Back RoadCompany GardenCloud’s EndSoham Heritage and Art CentreGun HillGeorge’s Everest HouseJwala Devi TempleMussoorie Christ Church, and Jharipani Falls.

Itinerary

Day 1

  • Arrival at Mussoorie and transfer to your hotel.
  • Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2

  • After breakfast, we will head to Lal Tibba - the highest point in Mussoorie situated in area called “Landour” and known to be the oldest inhabited place of Mussoorie
  • In the afternoon we will visit Gun Hill - Second highest point in Mussoorie from where you can see the impressive view of the city, and it is also a famous picnic spot.

Day 3

  • Full day tour to discover some of the famous sites in and around Mussoorie such as Municipal Garden and Kempty Fall.
  • Municipal Garden - In the last century Dr H. Fackner established Municipal Garden known as Botanical Gardens of Mussoorie.
  • Kempty Fall - Kempty fall is 12 kms away from Mussoorie. It is fascinating and one of the oldest tourist spot near Mussoorie.
  • In the evening we will driver back to Delhi.
